Position Summary
Responsible for steering the investments made in our data and analytics platforms and underlying infrastructure to enable new or enhance existing capabilities with strong collaboration with data product management, data architecture, governance and engineering teams to achieve our shared goals and the desire to drive our emerging data products forward to enable and support AEI’s business .
Responsibilities:
Develop a roadmap for the Data Analytics Platform by collaborating with technology stakeholders and peers Drive the technical vision, select the technology stack, and identify emerging technologies for Foundational and Advanced Analytics Build a business case for data platform transformation and investment opportunities with the clear value proposition, risks and cost. Through Agile delivery, ensure the effective acquisition and integration of data for new use cases Develop and execute a plan to maximize self-service and automation capabilities for business stakeholders, developers and users. Act as a gatekeeper for changes to data platforms, ensuring alignment with the platform vision Develop and execute the data visualization platform roadmap Drive adoption of business intelligence and analytics solutions, gaining support from business stakeholders Work closely with the Business Analytics teams to define the data platform needs Partner with Data Product Managers and Engineers to ingest the required data, automating data lifecycle, leading testing and deployment of underlying data layers Ensure that all risks and issues related to data platforms are identified and addressed Work closely with Data Governance team to ensure compliance with Trust policies and standards with respect to data management and security. Work closely with the Production Support team in the event of incidents Champion a data-driven culture, leading a team of cross-functional engineers and supporting and training staff
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.· 12+ years of overall experience in similar roles Expert technical understanding of technology required to implement, execute self-service data and analytics platforms Strong understanding of data platform architecture, DataOps, Automation and related technologies Experience in Driving Computational Governance – building abstractions in the form of core-libraries, helm charts, automation pipelines to provide strong technical controls and guarantees (Interoperability of data, Observability, Lineage, Security, and encryption standards) in a decentralized context. Experience with enterprise-level budget planning and management processes Uses Confluence, JIRA, and other agile team process tools to accelerate team outcomes Knowledge of big data platforms incorporating the data ingestion, query, governance, and deployment life cycle (Kafka, Python, Spark) on cloud-based deployment standards Experience with modern data platform tooling in Cloud (Azure or GCP with Databricks ) Working experience with DataOps and Automation through Software Engineering best practices. Understanding of distributed systems and providing high availability and durability guarantees for all storage systems Database Administration skills Experience in designing and implementing Lakehouse/ Data Mesh architecture Influencing skills – acts as an evangelist for data platforms and capabilities Self-motivated and accountable – demonstrated ability to follow through to execution Organized – can juggle multiple, potentially competing priorities with assurance Detail oriented – obsessed with quality Execution oriented – doesn’t remain in the theoretical; is able to make choices / decisions in the name of delivering rapid business impact Collaborative – easy to work with, across all levels of the organization; builds effective working relationships Bias for change – actively seeks out ways to improve processes, people, etc.
