Lead Data Scientist
C.H Robinson is seeking a Lead Data Scientist on our Digital Brokerage Costing team who combines a strong data intuition with statistical modelling, to develop and improve production data science services. In this role you will design pricing and negotiation algorithms, design and analyze experiments and generate deep insight into the workings of a billion-dollar two-sided marketplace. With the flexibility for remote work one day a week, this role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy. **Duties &Responsibilities:** The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following: + Build, develop, and maintain models used to provide real time pricing for our NAST Truckload business line. + Test, evaluate, and deploy new models and features to achieve better outcomes for key metrics + Work collaboratively with other data scientists, our engineering team, and business stakeholders to craft solutions with a holistic view of the problem + Communicate the factors of an algorithmic decision process to non-technical stakeholders + Partner with data engineers to build reliable data pipelines and to optimize them for model training as well as automating critical analysis tasks + Take ownership of a machine learning model lifecycle from requirements scoping all the way through model development, deployment, and continual evaluation of outcomes **Required Qualifications:** + 5 + years of Experience with Statistical and Machine Learning Algorithms + 3+ years of experience and fluency in Python or R + Proficiency with writing queries on relational databases (SQL) + Expertise in Hypothesis testing and experimental analysis + Familiarity with standard modeling techniques including model evaluation and testing (e.g., cross validation) + MS in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of experience or equivalent academic experience with a PhD in a relevant field. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with software engineering for data science applications and writing code for production systems. + Familiarity with causal modeling techniques for observational data + Experience with reinforcement learning + Strong skills with database querying languages and maintaining intelligently structured data. + Experience using data visualization techniques for data analysis and model explainability + Familiarity with feature selection and dimensionality reduction methods + Familiarity with Airflow, Azure Cloud, FastAPI, Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, Snowflake We will review applications for this role on an ongoing basis and encourage all interested candidates to apply at their earliest convenience. **Compensation Range** $129,900.00 - $216,000.00 The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location.
