Lead - Decision Support Analyst

Work where you matter.** **A Brief Overview** Responsible for assisting with the determination of and analytics of hospital pricing as it relates to routine operational services, transitional pricing changes for system migration and also analytics for strategic pricing initiatives. The Analyst will collaborate with many leaders across the Avera Health system and is expected to comply with established data governance and analytic standards adopted by Avera to ensure uniformity and comparability of analyses across Avera and its entities. **What you will do** + Completes complex analysis of existing and new prices. Analysis will consider the cost to provide product or care, references to comparative market pricing and consideration of third-party reimbursement. Builds gross and net revenue models to understand and explain the financial impact of new price structures driven by standardization. The Senior Analyst will require minimal direction to arrive at desired outputs. + Routinely communicates results of analytics both via emails, live presentations and conference calls. Clearly explains the calculation process and reason for new prices to both financial and clinical leadership as well as IT staff and leadership. Participates in routine data analyst/project coordination calls. + Assists with the annual or any other routine price adjustment process, this includes assisting CDM staff with coordination of adjustments, communication of adjustments and any analytical assessment of adjustments. + Prepares complex analytics to address price adjustments required for the standardization of the CDM. Analysis will consider volume implications, may consider impact of ambulatory vs. acute fee schedule impact, and review of the patient’s out-of-pocket expense. + Upon request or as necessary delivers education to interested parties to ensure understanding of all source data, calculated data, and process for evaluation of hospital pricing. Makes recommendations of noted educational gaps. + Ensures close coordination with leader on routine ad hoc analytics, reporting, modeling, and other information requests to minimize the likelihood of redundant analyses and inefficient use of analyst resources. Ensures proper escalation of non-routine requests that require additional coordination with Leadership and/or additional analyst resources. + Complies with established standards, processes, policies and procedures. **Essential Qualifications** The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
