Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Lead Design Engineer (NPI).
What you’ll do:PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Performs complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved
products/process/techniques. Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering
test/products/equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflict design requirements.
2. Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.
3. Review project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy.
4. Assists in determining projective objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.
5. Provide technical soundness of design decisions and products changes to facilitate manufacturing, reduce cost, substitute material, improve quality and accommodate special customer needs.
6. Prevent and correct manufacture issues that affect product function ability
7. Plan and execute design strategies that minimize the implementation cycle time and cost.
8. Certification process coordinator.
9. Support to existent process.
10. Keep quality specification of existent products.
11. Laboratory test according to the product.
12. Control and maintenance of deviation system.
13. Responsible of project development for products improvement
14. Responsible to generate reports according to the area.
15. Coordinate with other departments to maximize the use of information, skills and resources.
16. Work with manufacturing plants on plans, processes and strategies to accomplish a trouble free
introduction of products into manufacturing.
17. Request capital as needed in projects
18. Use of PRO Launch on new product development and product line transfer.
19. Comply with EQS, Lean and Pro-Launch procedures and policies
2.1 - Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS):
▪ Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the MESH Coordinator.
▪ Assist to all EHS training assigned

1. Bachelor degree in Industrial, Electronic or Electromechanical Engineering, or similar
careers.
▪ Preferable: Master Degree
2. Minimum experience of 5 – 7 years in similar positions.
3. Bilingual: English/Spanish.
4. Computer knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with CAD tools – PROE, SolidWorks,
AutoCAD or equivalent (and drawing interpretation skills), AS400, Altium, PADS.
5. Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), Lean, 6 Sigma and ISO9001.
