Job Summary:

The Lead Designer, is a key member of the product development team which works closely with other teams, such as the Manufacturing and Product Management teams to create competitive designs for Chilers.  The selected individual must have the technical expertise to support product design projects, product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality & reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering and stage gate PDP practices..

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

Project Coordination: Responsible for planning/estimating all project work required for a project and helping solve problems to ensure project timelines are met in coordination with the project manager.  Documentation: Develop and refine product level documentation in coordination with architectural vision set by Chief Product Architect(s).  Responsible for ensuring all design and drafting practices are followed and acts as subject matter expert on computer aided design (CAD), bill of material (BOM), machine design, GD&T and selection of materials/components to meet design requirements.Design Integrity: Review and provide guidance on all design changes to the product prior to release.  Also, ensure all changes are effectively communicated through technical design review process.  Include and Uplift One Another: Collaborate with other design team members and act as a mentor to them to ensure error free work and grow their skillset.Problem Solving: Exercise extensive judgement, inventiveness, and conceptual approaches to design complex solutions.  Ability to recognize and recommend sound solutions to design or product configuration problems.  


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Associate degree with 10 year of industry experience required.


Key Competencies:

Strong understanding of chiller systems and components.Hands-on experiences in structured product development processes (PDP) on commercial product development processes. Extensive experience with computer aided design (CAD) such as Creo Parametric (Solidworks, Catia, etc..), bill of material management, change control, and product configuration solutions.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent mentoring and coaching skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Top priority Leadership PrinciplesWe dare to do things differentlyWe include and uplift each otherWe own our actions and decision

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $100,000-$110,000
