Lead Distribution Technician-Rotating Shifts

Primary Purpose

Serves as a lead worker by delivering, stocking, inventorying, selling and processing orders for supplies distributed to PHHS units, the pharmacy, sterile processing, patients and others to provide Materiel Services' customers with prompt, efficient, quality service.

Minimum Specifications

 

Education:

Must have a High School diploma or GED.

 

Experience:

Must have three years of experience as a Distribution Technician; OR, Have two years of progressive inventory control experience with a thorough knowledge of inventory practices and policies.

Skills or Special Abilities:

Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must be capable of leading or supervising the activities of others. Must be able to demonstrate effective record keeping skills. Must be detail oriented. Must have a basic understanding of inventory control procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

Monitors, verifies and processes supply orders (by PAR level) to ensure that correct supply levels are maintained in PHHS units and other areas. Delivers and stocks supplies in PHHS units, sterile processing, the pharmacy and the CDC warehouse to provide PHHS staff with the products needed to provide quality services for patients. Services out-patients by filling individual orders for supplies to ensure that PHHS patients are provided with prompt and efficient service. Tags supplies to provide each item with an expense tracking label. Maintains positive working relationships with Materiel Services' customers, while acting as an information resource to ensure customer satisfaction. Performs physical inventory counts to verify the quantity of supplies in PHHS units, warehouses and other areas as assigned. Delivers and picks-up count sheets that hold bar codes reflecting patient charges to help ensure that accurate billing information is on file. Rotates dated supplies to keep expired products out in front. Monitors and communicates the status of priority items to management to ensure that incomplete orders are filled at the earliest possible date. Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and orderly environment in the warehouse and inventory areas to ensure adherence to departmental and PHHS standards. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in Materiel Services by attending seminars or workshops and building product knowledge, and integrates this knowledge as appropriate into the job. Enters, updates and deletes PAR level information in the computer and runs reports to ensure that working PAR levels are current. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals and mission of the PHHS. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Distribution area. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
