Commissioning Lead Electrical - SME - Remote / Traveler
We have a traveling position for EE CxA's as well in: Boydton VA, Richmond VA, Ashburn VA, Charlotte NC, New Albany OH, Chicago IL, San Jose CA, Omaha NE, Salt Lake City UT, Atlanta GA, Portland OR, Boardman OR, Reno NV, Tulsa OK, or Dallas TX.

Lead the overall electrical commissioning process, follow standards set by the organization and oversight of multiple commissioning projects for large data center projects. This candidate will act as a Commissioning Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure that commissioning experts follow commissioning standards, adhere to a thorough quality management / QC process and procedures that validate and document client’s systems. This candidate will also handle any technical commissioning issues for their data center clients.

Responsibilities:

Lead multiple Commissioning Projects consists of a full team of commissioning engineers and commissioning project managers on a wide range of Data Center Commissioning projectsWill not have manage staff at the onset ; candidate will be managing the technical aspect of projects and act as a technical resource commissioning teamsWill grow into a technical management role with people management in 6-18 month timeframeEnsure Commissioning standards are being followed for: Equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures; Development of standard operating procedures (SOP's) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); Comprehensive Commissioning documentationEnsure that the overall Commissioning process is being followed with the highest of standards:Commissioning test procedures and reportsCommissioning logs, equipment checklist, and other tools to track commissioning projectsComprehensive reports which include:recommendations for optimizing building operationsfunctional checklistslist of deficienciesequipment operationmaintenance manualsHave the team follow Commissioning Standards:Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioningIntegrated system testing; Load Bank Testing; Compilation of all testing procedure resultsFunctional tests for various building MEP systems, such as: fire alarm and control systems, HVAC, Chillers, CRAC units, normal and standby electrical distribution systems, UPS, standby generators, and emergency lighting, etc.System Assembly;Commission plan preparationFollow company QC process and proceduresInterface with clients, contractors, equipment vendors and owners agents as needed;Execute project assignments; Interface with project contractors, vendors, and testing technicians; Interact with all facets of the company: engineering, design, etc.Verification of commissioning results of test reportsAssist with field troubleshooting of commissioned equipment as needed; Field experience in the operation and application of Power Quality Analyzers, Power Disturbance Analyzers, Data loggers, and related system testing equipment

Qualifications:

5 to 10 + years experience in the Electrical / Mechanical Commissioning FieldBachelor's / Associates Degree as an Electrical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer a plusA/E experience working in complex facilities or mission critical projectsPrevious Data Center / Mission Critical experience a mustExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal (this role requires heavy amount of writing, documentation, and client interaction)Experience with Level 1-5 commissioningExperience managing commissioning teams and developing plans for large scale commissioning projectsExperience with IEEE / ASHRAE procedures and protocols a plusPossess basic knowledge of systems design for various projectsExperience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft ProjectPrevious experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy Nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.)Open to 50% Travel (not long periods of travel / just many smaller ones to check on multiple projects)Must live 60-90 minutes from a major airport
