As a part of this department, you can expect to work closely with our project management and field installation teams to streamline the construction process. ABOUT THE ROLEEngineer Level 5: Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments including hyper-scale data centers. Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and d represents the organization to direct the design process to meet design requirements and schedule. Requires advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of own field and related sciences or disciplines. The knowledge and expertise required for this level usually result from progressive experience. Consults supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments. Includes responsibilities and tasks outlined in Engineer Levels 1 – 4. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of a small staff of Engineers, Designers and CAD/BIM drafters. Estimates personnel needs, schedules, and task completion dates.Coordinate with the Owner’s subject matter experts on project design and construction support.Ensure compliance with all project requirements.Coordinates work tasks and project schedules with the design and construction teams.Direct creation of, and review, complete construction documents to include drawings and specifications/documentation, complex hyper-scale data center power studies, submittal reviews, and project reports.Reviews design and follows QAQC processes through the design phase.Technical resource for supporting hyper-scale data center commissioning.Technical resource for supporting Project managers facilitating Bids and ProposalsProfessional responsibility that construction documents meet NEC and building CODEs.Provides coordination with Project manager that design documents meet project scope requirements.Supervises preparation of complex and detailed, hyper-scale data center power studies using ETAP power study softwareAttend internal and external meetings - architect, MEP, GC, Owner coordination.Maintain technical development goals and continuing education credits.Mentor DesignersObtain Professional Development and TrainingInclude responsibilities for Performance Reviews of direct reports.Implement the Engineering department's Design and CAD workflows among team.Interact and coordinate with CEI's inter-department staff and managers supporting their agenda.Coordinate with CAD-BIM Managers and developing standards.Prepare document creation and delivery processes and standards as needed.Apply complete conformance of State, NEC CODES, IEEE, and project requirements, to documents.Enforce conformance to the Standards and processes outlined by the CAD/BIM Manager. ABOUT YOUYou are a Professionally Licensed Electrical Engineer in the state of CA with the ability to gain licenses in other states as needed. You have over five years of experience working as a PE for a hyper-scale data center high-build electrical contractor. You are experienced with the following software: AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT, ETAP/SKM (desired). You possess meticulous work habits including close attention to detail, time management and people skills, problem-solving skills, exceptional organizational skills, ability to effectively communicate and present technical information verbally and in writing via Microsoft Office applications (mainly Excel and Word). WHAT YOU WILL GAINAs an Electrical Engineer – PE – Data Center at Cupertino Electric, Inc. you will be able to thrive in a role that is ever-learning and evolving to meet the needs of our customers, both internal and external. You will sharpen your technical abilities and learn new professionally relevant skills in power systems design. You will be exposed to new, large, and technically challenging projects while having a support system of multiple other licensed engineers for collaboration and learning. You will have the opportunity to lead other junior Designers and engineers and work with your peer group to produce large projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: Electrical Engineering or similar Bachelor of Science degree. Licensure/Certifications: Professional Engineer's license State of California, and ability to gain licenses in other states as needed.
Experience: 5-7 years working as a PE for a hyper-scale data center design-build electrical contractor.
