We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for direct hire in Cary, North Carolina. The selected candidate will mentor and/or manage junior and mid-level mechanical engineering staff members while also working closely with clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

** This position can work a Hybrid schedule in Cary, NC (typically ~ 2 days/wk) **
** This position requires a Professional Engineer License (any state) **
** This position may require travel, as required (typically ~ 10%) **
Responsibilities- Lead an Electrical Engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors
- Engage with clients, evaluating their energy needs, and develop concept-level plans and solutions; then take these through detailed design to provide for full execution
- Collaborate with our client account managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm
- Anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery
- Strategy formation, business development and sales
Qualifications- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years experience in engineering design or consulting
- A Professional Engineer License (any state)
- Experience with power distribution systems and microgrids
- Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity
- Experience with HV or MV Substations
- Experience with energy storage systems
- Power system modeling experience using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar modeling software
- Experience with Protection and Control, SCADA or power system automation
- US Citizen
- Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization / climate response planning, cogeneration or combined heat and power systems and/or thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water) is a plus
