Lead Electronic Security Systems Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician III to join our team of outstanding professionals installing Electronic and Technical Security Systems for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) on Naval Station Norfolk. This role will involve working on complex projects, including upgrades to the Physical Access Control System (PACS) and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) at various facilities.

Responsibilities

Serve as a lead Electronics Technician, working both independently and with a team on complex installations and upgrades.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot Lenel OnGuard Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems (ACS/IDS) for MARMC owned spaces.

Work with federal agencies on the migration, upgrades, and installation of physical security infrastructure.

Read, interpret, and draw electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical schematics.

Follow strict installation wiring guidelines and interpret building construction plans (blueprints).

Use advanced test equipment and prepare comprehensive site test data and documentation.

Mentor and guide junior technicians on complex installations and troubleshooting.

Perform quality assurance checks on installations and system configurations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, or completion of military basic and advanced electronic or communication technician courses.

5+ years of technical experience with commercial installation of electronics/electrical systems.

Understanding of National Electric Code (NEC) requirements and practices such as grounding and electrical safety.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and Adobe Acrobat.

Must be a US Citizen with a current and valid Driver's License.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Expert knowledge of test equipment such as multimeters and cable testers (e.g., Fluke, Klein, Ideal).

Extensive experience with preparation of site test data and documentation.

Strong ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment, with excellent attention to detail and self-motivation.

Exceptional verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or lead a team with minimal supervision.

Advanced skills in installing and bending EMT conduit.

Lenel Certified Professional certification or higher.

Desired Qualification:

4+ years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and servicing Lenel hardware and software.

Experience with fiber optic communication pathways and connections.

Familiarity with NESS Lenel System Server integration.

Experience with DoD and DoS Security Systems and requirements.

Familiarity with various access control and surveillance systems (e.g., Software House, Milestone).

Experience with mechanical and electromechanical locking systems.

Lenel Certified Expert certification.
