Essential Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the global development team and implement advanced numerical methods in in-house pre-processor and post-processor.
Work with a global team of tool developers to build automated CFD geometry and meshing capabilities for aerodynamic and aeromechanical simulations & design.
Preprocessing for LES-based CFD workflow, leveraging GPU to speed up CFD simulation processes or establish GPU-based workflows
Productionization and integration of existing proof-of-concepts/tools for mesh morphing with the CFD system; development of new capabilities for both RANS & LES based CFD simulations
Skills with structured & unstructured CFD meshing techniques & relevant software experience.
Knowledge of basic scripting languages, e.g. shell, perl, python, qt, Tcl/Tk, etc.
Enhance the capabilities of the current framework to improve business value.
Develop test suites and validate the functioning of new capabilities.
Fine-tune current formulations to continuously improve robustness, speed, and accuracy.
Facilitate reviews with the user community and work collaboratively with them for application to engine programs.
Resolve issues faced by users in a timely manner and document the learnings.
Be responsible for the uninterrupted functioning of the CFD framework across all global sites.
Conduct thorough evaluations of new features in tools & automation processes to establish suitability for release and guide further development direction.
Work collaboratively with design teams and assist in the development of best practices for CFD simulations.
Maintain quality by adhering to existing code development standards.
Stay up to date on the latest developments in CFD methods from the external world and academia
Leverage digital and machine learning techniques to improve capacity.
Recommend innovative approaches based on existing limitation in the processes
Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
Participate in documenting and sharing lessons learned in relevant technical forums.
Qualifications/Requirements
Masters + 4 Years of relevant experience or PhD degree in Aerospace/Thermal/Mechanical Engineering.
Strong technical background in Computational Fluid Dynamics, computational geometry & vector algebra, numerical methods, algorithms and data structures.
Familiarity & experience in developing CFD tools/processes using FORTRAN or C/C++
Strong problem-solving skills, self-learning abilities, and a proven track record of technical excellence.
Ability to work in a cross-functional environment with strong communication and presentation skills.
Familiarity with AI and machine learning techniques, including their application in CFD and optimization processes.
Desired Characteristics
Familiarity or basic knowledge in parallel programming, experience with Fortran/C.
CAD Modelling & NXOpen programming.
Code development experience in Linux and HPC environments.
Hands-on experience in using 3rd party CFD simulation software (CAD, solver, meshing & postprocessing: CFX, Fluent, ICEM, Pointwise, Ensight, Autogrid, Tecplot, Paraview etc.).
Good understanding of Turbomachinery flow.
Experience using machine learning methods and optimization techniques.
Hands-on experience in mesh handling/editing/morphing techniques either using FORTRAN/C/C++ codes or through external 3rd party software.
Knowledge of CFD Data structured - HDF/CGNS
Flexibility and adaptability to work on critical priorities as per business needs.
Ability to collaborate and coordinate tasks involving global team members.
