Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Engineer – Cloud Capacity Planning & Engineering.
In this role, the successful candidate Reporting to the Cloud Operations the Cloud Capacity Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal resource utilization and performance within our cloud infrastructure This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies capacity planning methodologies and a proactive approach to resource management.
Job Responsibilities:
Capacity Planning:
Conduct regular assessments of cloud resource utilization CPU memory storage network across various environments Forecast future resource needs based on business growth application changes and seasonal fluctuations Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to avoid bottlenecks and ensure efficient resource allocationPerformance Optimization:
Monitor cloud performance metrics and identify areas for improvement Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to optimize resource utilization Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and resource consumptionCost Management:
Implement cost saving measures such as rightsizing instances optimizing storage and leveraging reserved instances Track cloud spending and identify opportunities for cost reduction Develop and implement cost optimization strategies aligned with business objectivesAutomation:
Automate routine capacity management tasks using scripting languages or automation tools Develop and maintain automation workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventionCloud Migration:
Assist in the migration of workloads to the cloud ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance Develop migration strategies that minimize disruption and maximize efficiencyVendor Management:
Manage relationships with cloud service providers and negotiate favorable terms Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and trends
Minimum Qualifications:
o 3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure management with a focus on capacity planning and performance optimization o Certification in cloud technologies AWS Certified Cloud Architect, Azure Certified Solutions Architect o Experience with container orchestration platforms Kubernetes Docker o Familiarity with DevOps practices and toolsPreferred Qualifications:

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 – $150,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
