Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing capabilities-based assessments, verifying and validating current USSTRATCOM strategic weapon system planning programs, and emerging commercial systems. The role involves using a trigger-driven environment for modeling and simulation, conducting focused technology studies, and performing engineering analyses to improve system performance, survivability, and cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
Verification & Validation: Perform capabilities-based assessments verifying and validating current USSTRATCOM strategic weapon system planning programs (NPES, MPAS, DSS, GAP CIE, FSR, FSAM, and NPES Re-capitalization) and emerging commercial systems.Technology Research & Analysis: Research and analyze emerging commercial and other DoD technologies for potential applicability to USSTRATCOM systems addressing system and software application requirements. Perform analysis of alternatives on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software tools identifying software solutions that may be utilized “as is” or further developed or incorporated into software prototypes. COTS and GOTS software and software prototypes shall support the research, testing, and assessment of proposed operating concepts and system architectures including the development and testing of new communications, messaging, and data transmission concepts.System Analysis: Analyze system design and development, comparing actual versus “to be” system configurations, and assess design adequacy in relation to system performance and required technologies.Environment Risk Evaluation and Mitigation: Design environments identifying and assessing technical and performance risks, as well as potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and recommend risk mitigation options.Work Environment:

Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science or a related field.Experience: Extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly in the defense sector.Modelling and Simulation: Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools and techniques.Problem Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsSystems & Architecture: Experience with NC3 systems and architectures.Cybersecurity Knowledge: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.Communication & Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills.Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Desired:
