Lead Engineer - Engineering (FT, Days)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The Boiler Operator/HVAC Tech must maintain the hospital facilities, equipment and systems in good operating condition to ensure minimum down time, maximum efficiency and equipment life, with emphasis on heating, steam generation, water flow systems, mixing valves and other systems relating to HVAC and power or steam generation. BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Education / Licensure / Certification: + High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) + Must have valid driver’s license + Special training in electrical, mechanical refrigeration, plumbing, heating and air conditioning (HVAC) + Knowledge of plant operations and boiler systems management. + EPA certification is not required but beneficial. + 8 or more years experience maintaining and performing systems checks and repairs. + Required: 1 or more of the following - HVAC Certification, Plumber License, Electrician License, or Boiler Certification Experience / Skills: + At least three years working under skilled heating, air conditioning and refrigeration person + At least three years experience in general HVAC maintenance, preferably in a health care setting + At least three years experience in general high pressure steam boiler applications and maintenance procedures. + Must be able to work in conditions, which might place him/her in a position of personal danger; must walk, or stand in all types of weather, up and down stairs, etc. + Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment + Attention to detail and concentration.
