The main responsibilities are to provide accurate pre-test prediction for Impact tests to avoid surprise in component tests and engine certification (Fan Blade Out, containment, bird/ice impact etc.). Develop LS-Dyna as a design tool for Design Optimization - weight/cost reductions, MRB issue resolution, and Field Fixes & Advance state of the art and leverage the knowledge base across GE through Documented standard work/Best-Practices. Essential Responsibilities
Ensure on-time program deliverables for NPI/Sustaining/ New Technology programs
Design, develop & validate methods/algorithms and software in Impact Dynamics Domain
Strong collaboration with the project team, GE Partners & onsite/offsite vendor groups
Work collaboratively with Tech Lead and Team Manager for risk resolution & project management
Must be a team player with good problem-solving and presentation skills
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors/ Master’s/ PhD Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with minimum 4 years of relevant experience
Successful demonstration of impact dynamics skills in solving an industry problem
Experience in developing Impact dynamics methods, algorithms & software
Proficiency in using any CAD (NX), CAE/FEA (ANSYS, Hyper Mesh, etc.) and Explicit Dynamics (LS-DYNA) software
Desired Characteristics
Experience in aerospace/energy industry with sound knowledge of Mechanical/Structural Analysis, Rotating components & Composite materials.
Demonstrated awareness of industry and technology trends in aerospace & data science
Ability to develop, modify and utilize custom computer codes in various languages such as ANSYS APDL, LS-Prepost cfile, NX, Fortran, C/C++, VB.net, VBA, TCL/TK,ML & AI etc.
Exposure to software development & testing
Exposure to LEAN & Agile principles
Demonstrated skill in the use of Python, Fortran, C, C++ and VB.net for engineering applications
