In this role you will get to lead the estimation of civil and building projects, providing accurate cost estimates, managing a team of estimators, and ensuring that all estimates align with project specifications, budgets, and timelines. **What You'll be Doing:** + **Cost Estimation for Civil and Building Projects:** Lead the development of detailed cost estimates for civil and building work, including earthworks, foundations, structural elements, and finishes, ensuring alignment with project requirements. + **Team Leadership:** Manage and mentor a team of estimators, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of estimates for civil and building projects. + **Collaboration:** Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather data, develop estimates, and ensure that all project specifications and client expectations are met. + **Budget Management:** Ensure estimates are completed within the allocated budget, actively managing and mitigating any risks that could affect project financials. + **Market Analysis:** Research and analyze current market rates for materials, labor, and equipment to ensure estimates are based on the most up-to-date information. + **Risk Identification and Mitigation:** Identify potential risks in civil and building projects related to scope, timing, and costs, and recommend strategies for risk mitigation. + **Client Interaction:** Present estimates and cost justifications to clients and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and understanding in the estimation process. + **Process Improvement:** Continuously review and improve estimating processes and methodologies, implementing best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall project cost-effectiveness. + **Reporting:** Provide regular updates and reports on estimation status, changes, and any issues that may impact project cost or delivery timelines. **What Required Skills You'll Bring:** + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus. + **Experience:** At least **10+ years** of experience in estimating civil and building projects, with a strong background in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. + **Leadership:** Proven experience managing and leading a team of estimators, ensuring successful project delivery and high-quality cost estimates. + **Analytical Skills:** Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accuracy in estimating complex civil and building projects. + **Communication Skills:** Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring clarity in the estimation process. + **Tools & Technologies:** Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CostX, Procore, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. **What desired Skills You'll Bring:** + Certification in **Certified Cost Professional (CCP)** or equivalent in construction estimating. + Experience in **Lean Construction** or sustainable building practices. + Familiarity with civil and building work regulations and industry standards.
