Lead Facility Technician (Full Time, Northern Region)

Nothern Region covers residential and commercial properties in Harford County, Baltimore County, and City of Baltimore.

General Summary:

Responsible for keeping properties in top-notch physical condition, inside and out in all kinds of weather.  Provides support to the Facility Manager/Operations Supervisor and provides oversight to techs as needed.  Works independently and interacts on a daily basis with team members, Work Control Center Staff and other Integrated Operations staff.   Supports the policies and objectives of the Sheppard Pratt. The position may be called upon to change shifts from time to time and carry an emergency phone when on-call for maintenance. Sheppard Pratt provides the tools and equipment necessary to fulfill the requirements of this role. A company vehicle will be provided for travel to work locations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Work requires the ability to read, write and speak English for clear communication with others; read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and equipment specifications; use and interpret various testing meters, gauges, and instruments for electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration equipment; operate a variety of hand and power tools and carpentry shop machinery, and utilize safety procedures and practices. This knowledge may be obtained through high school diploma/GED or by a brief (six month or less) period of intensive vocational/trades training outside of school. Work requires 8 +years of varied mechanical and carpentry/repair/construction experience - sufficient to demonstrate knowledge of various plant equipment and its repair, installation, and preventive maintenance, ability to visually and conceptually recognize causes and resolutions of malfunction in mechanical equipment, and the capability to perform work as scheduled and account daily for time and materials used. Must possess a current, valid Driver’s license with a driving record that has 3 or fewer points on it at the time of hire. Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
