LEAD FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN

DeCA operates a worldwide commissary system that provides quality grocery products to active duty military personnel and retirees, members of the Reserve and National Guard, and their families, as well as current DeCA employees. Responsibilities Review completed work for accuracy and compliance with the supervisor's established guidelines, practices and existing deadlines. Provide financial assistance pertaining to payroll to serviced customers and new employees. Ensure current leave regulations, policies, and reporting procedures are being followed in operating elements. Provide technical advice and guidance to time and attendance clerks relating to correct posting procedures and application of leave regulations. Advise traveler on procedures on travel for home leave, education and reemployment. Provide guidance and instruction for preparing travel (TDY) requests, permanent change of station (PCS) requests, travel advances requests, and travel reimbursement claims. Maintain overall controls of all expenditure accounting for all commissary stores. This experience may have been gained in the private or military sector. Examples of specialized experience include: Plan and Implement work for a variety of financial services (examination, audit and verification of TDY/PCS orders). Maintain automated travel log in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). Research and analyze employee pay related problems. Education You may not use education to qualify for this position.
