Job Summary: A Lead Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing inspections, testing, repairs, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimal safety for occupants. This role involves leading a team of technicians, mentoring entry level field technicians, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

 

Pay Range:  $41.00/hour - $55.00/hour

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of fire sprinkler service technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and team development Coordinate and oversee complex projects, delegating tasks and ensuring efficient resource allocation Serve as the primary technical expert, providing advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving for complex system issues Collaborate with management to develop and implement service strategies, process improvements, and team performance metrics. Conduct routine inspections and testing of wet, dry and pre-action systems fire sprinkler systems, to identify and address any issues or deficiencies, as per NFPA 25 requirements Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results, and any related deficiencies or non- compliance issues observed, in accordance with NFPA codes and standards. Test and evaluate system functionality of sprinkler heads, valves, piping, pumps, and control systems. Inspect piping, fittings, and connections for signs of corrosion, leaks, or damage, recommending necessary repairs or replacements Perform maintenance tasks on fire sprinkler systems, such as replacing damaged or malfunctioning components, cleaning pipes and sprinkler heads, lubricating moving parts, and adjusting system settings to ensure optimal performance Inspect Fire pump assemblies, including testing flow rates, pressure levels, and mechanical integrity Conduct quality assurance checks on team members' work to maintain high standards of service Respond promptly to service calls and emergency requests, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to restore system functionality. Participate in client meetings to discuss large-scale projects, system upgrades, or complex technical issues. Document all service activities accurately and thoroughly, including inspection reports, work orders, and parts usage, and customer notes, using the Service Trade operations platform. Work closely with Deficiency Sellers to provide detailed inspection reports, material needs, and other job- related notes, to prepare and deliver repair estimates in a timely manner Interact professionally with clients to schedule work, discuss inspection findings, address any concerns or questions, and provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvements Work closely with Service Coordinator(s) to optimize work orders, material requisitions, and job scheduling, focusing on efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, always adhering to safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures.
