**Description** SAIC is seeking a highly motivated **Full Stack Tech Lead** to join our biometrics team. This role is ideal for a senior software engineer who enjoys mentoring developers, leading technical decisions, and building scalable applications that run in both **cloud and edge environments** . You will play a critical role in shaping the development process while working closely with enterprise architects, engineers, and stakeholders. **Work Arrangement:** Hybrid (Primarily remote, with on-site work at a local test facility ~4-6 times per month) **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead a team of developers in designing, implementing, and maintaining biometric processing applications. + Develop and maintain software in **one or more** of the following languages: **Python, C#, or Java** (Python and C# are most commonly used on the team). + Provide mentorship, conduct code reviews, and contribute to task planning. + Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to define system design and best practices. + Support and troubleshoot deployed biometric solutions in production environments. + Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments as needed (prior experience is helpful but not required). **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + **U.S. Citizenship** with the ability to obtain a **CBP Background Investigation (BI)** clearance. + **Bachelor’s degree** in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. + **9+ years of experience** in software development. + Strong expertise in **at least one** of the following: **Python, C#, or Java** . + Experience leading or mentoring developers in an agile environment. + Familiarity with **cloud computing** (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or distributed systems. + Proficiency in **Git-based source control** and modern development workflows. + Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. **Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have, but Not Required):** + Experience in **biometrics** , **computer vision** , or **machine learning** techniques. + Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices. + Basic understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code). + Experience with cloud-native application development or **serverless computing** . + Understanding of **cybersecurity best practices** and secure coding principles. **Why Join Us?** + **Impactful Work:** Develop biometrics solutions for **national security and public safety** . + **Career Growth:** Lead a talented team, contribute to architecture decisions, and work with cutting-edge technologies. + **Flexible Work Environment:** Primarily remote with occasional on-site collaboration. + **Supportive Culture:** Work in an environment that values **mentorship, innovation, and continuous learning** .
