We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Gateway Avionics Cybersecurity Engineer (SkillBridge Conversion) to join our team

As a Lead Gateway Avionics Cybersecurity Engineer (SkillBridge Conversion) you will \: 

Lead a team of Cybersecurity Professionals in the Engineering Department Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors Provide coordinated support between engineering and other organizations/programs Perform assessment for completeness of design and implementation throughout the full software and hardware development lifecycle Support the development of CDR and readiness review products and participate in module system reviews Work with cybersecurity team members to support the gateway ground security plan Develop cybersecurity requirements for ground control and spacecraft systems Work with the spacecraft module vendors to establish cybersecurity plans and verify compliance Perform cybersecurity oversight and impact assessments Support cybersecurity incident investigation and resolution Ensure systems comply with scanning of spacecraft systems per government, NASA, and Johnson Space Center specific requirements Ensure findings in the security assessment report are addressed and closed through remediation or risk assessment Coordinate with external organizations to perform cybersecurity remediation Perform other duties as assigned or as required *

Requisition Qualifications\:

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.  Eligible for US Govt Top Secret security clearance Experience with avionics systems Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing engineering environment with demanding customers on a compressed schedule Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills with internal and external customers Experience with cybersecurity impact assessment and remediation Familiarity with cybersecurity controls and requirements Experience in risk assessment and implementation of risk reducing measures Proficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Skype, SharePoint, Jira Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision Ability to prepare written documents/presentations and to verbally present at various meetings Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude Effectively communicate across a wide range of technical disciplines, with vendors/contractors, direct customers and upper management

Requisition Preferences\:

Experience with controls and requirements including NIST SP 800-53 'Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems' Understanding of NASA NPR2810.1A 'Security of Information Technology Requisition' Experience with cybersecurity planning and auditing Experience with cybersecurity vulnerability scanning Experience with avionics cybersecurity system maintenance (disabling services, effective countermeasures, intrusion detection, firewall configuration, etc.) Experience with hardware and software integration​
