Hidden Valley Transfer Station, a Waste Connections Company, is seeking a dependable and motivated **Lead General Laborer** to join our team in Puyallup, Washington. This full-time, year-round position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, leads by example, and is committed to safety, service, and sustainability. **Schedule:** Sunday–Wednesday, 7:30 AM to 6 PM with regular overtime **Pay Range:** $25.00 – $26.00 per hour, depending on experience **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead and coordinate daily labor tasks to ensure efficient and safe site operations + Monitor workflow and assist in prioritizing tasks for labor staff + Maintain cleanliness and organization of the transfer station, including sweeping, shoveling, and debris removal + Safely direct traffic and assist customers with unloading and disposal procedures + Operate light equipment and tools such as pressure washers, compactors, and forklifts (if certified) + Perform routine safety checks and report hazards or equipment issues promptly + Train and mentor new laborers on safety protocols and operational procedures + Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other departments to support smooth operations + Assist with minor maintenance and repairs as needed + Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations **Qualifications:** + Minimum of2 yearsof experience in a physically demanding outdoor role, preferably in waste management or industrial operations + Provenleadership experience, with the ability to direct and support a team in a fast-paced environment + Strong understanding ofsafety protocolsand ability to enforce them consistently + Comfortable working in environments with strong odors, heavy equipment, and varying weather conditions + Physically capable of liftingup to 50 lbsregularly and standing/walking for extended periods + Must possess avalid driver’s licensewith a clean driving record + High school diploma or equivalent required;additional vocational training or certifications(e.g., First Aid, OSHA) preferred + **Safety-sensitive position** – must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening To be considered for any of our current openings, you must complete an application at www.careers.wasteconnections.com.
