Lead Graphic Designer
CDM Smith
As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
• Designs and produces complex marketing,
communications, sales and/or client deliverables
materials, with an eye for systemizing.
• Leads teams to produce routine to highly complex
products. Collaborates with teammates, marketing staff
and clients to define communications concepts, themes,
and approaches. Provides art direction for more junior
graphic designers. Reviews work in progress and
evaluates junior team members performance.
• Leads the production and distribution of final products
(print, post, animate, ship, etc.). Interacts with vendors
and/or clients, such as photographers, printers and
technology suppliers, to ensure price/budget, quality,
schedule and delivery of materials.
• Provides final review of complex projects, with an eye
for quality and brand compliance. Shares technical and
design knowledge. Advises staff on methods to improve
products. Identifies areas of growth for staff within the
design discipline and the company.
• May coordinate the maintenance and development of
company-wide brand standards (Look and Feel
Templates (LFT), websites).
• Maintains computer software and systems upgrades.
Archives project files and associated assets in a timely
manner.
Skills & Abilities
• Advanced knowledge of graphic design and typography principles and the ability to apply them to solve marketing and business challenges through visual storytelling.
• Advanced knowledge of current graphics design (and related) software applications.
• Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others at various levels
throughout the firm.
• Advanced verbal and written communications skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
Creative Suite.
• Ability and willingness to guide and mentor junior staff.
