Lead Groundskeeper

Under the direction of the Groundskeeping Supervisor, the Groundskeeping Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the groundskeeping crew, focusing specifically on outdoor cleaning tasks. This role involves assigning tasks, providing guidance, and supervising the cleaning of outdoor areas, including sweeping, mopping and removing debris. Additionally, the Groundskeeping Team Leader ensures all cleaning equipment is properly maintained, enforces safety protocols, plans and schedules regular cleaning activities and special projects, and monitors the quality of work performed by the team to ensure it meets organizational standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of outdoor cleaning practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Engage in exceptional customer service to foster brand loyalty among both external and internal customers.2.    Assign team members to various duties and guide them with leadership, especially in the absence of a supervisor.3.    Provide safety instructions, ensure safe working conditions, and enforce the use of proper safety precautions and personal protective equipment. Ensure all chemicals are properly labeled with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and identified correctly.4.    Train team members on proper practices and procedures, and assist them with all duties and projects, including biohazardous cleanup.5.    Maintain inventory, fill supply requests, and ensure necessary equipment and materials are available for the team.6.    Administrative Duties and Confidentiality: Perform administrative duties such as managing emails and using Microsoft 365, conduct preventative maintenance checks, complete area walk-throughs, follow up on tasks, report unsafe conditions to management, and maintain confidentiality in all operations.7.    Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

 EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum of two (2) years of grounds keeping experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel).

Polished and professional demeanor in person, online and via phone with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including strong spelling and grammatical skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment required to complete all duties and jobs.

Ability to follow safety guidelines when using required chemicals, equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties; ability to give safety instructions to team members. 

Demonstrates the ability to exercise utmost discretion with confidential information including but not limited to, credit card information, personnel, and department data.

Knowledge of emergency shut-off procedures for gas, water, electrical, etc.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

☒ Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.
