Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of industrial cabinets and shelving units and is looking to hire Lead Hand Assemblers.

 

Location- Richmond Hill, ON

 

Shift-Hiring for afternoon shift  (Monday to Thursday 3:30pm to 1:30am)

 

Pay Rate -$21.00-$25.00 per hour

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the mechanical assembly team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with production schedules and quality standards. Assemble products using a variety of hand and power tools, following engineering drawings and work instructions to ensure each unit meets customer specifications. Conduct quality checks and guide team members in identifying and correcting assembly issues, including misaligned parts, missing components, and cosmetic or functional defects. Coordinate daily workflow, allocate tasks to team members, and monitor progress to meet deadlines. Train and mentor new and junior assemblers, fostering a positive and productive team environment. Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and organization of completed assemblies for shipping or storage. Promote a safe, clean, and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental guidelines. Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.

THIS IS A CONTRACT TO PERMANENT HIRE AFTER 3 MONTHS

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

Proven experience in mechanical assembly, with demonstrated proficiency in using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, drills, riveters, wrenches). Previous leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others in a production setting. Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. High attention to detail with a commitment to product quality and safety. Adaptability to shifting priorities and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
