Location: Primarily located at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago, Indiana, must be able to travel to other hospitals as necessary.
Job Description:
The Lead HIM Analyst of Release of Information (ROI) oversees the daily operations of the release of information processes ensuring compliance with HIPAA, state laws and organizational policies. Serves as the primary point of contact for escalations, quality assurance and team leadership while maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality in handling patient health information.
High School graduate or equivalent is required. Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology is preferred. Minimum 2 years working in an HIM Department hospital or clinic setting is required, previous release of information experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of HIPAA and federal/state release regulations required. Proficiency in using personal computers, Microsoft Office and EHR systems required. Knowledge of statistical methodology is required to conduct productivity and quality audits. Ability to work independently with minimal direction required and to lead, train and motivate a team. Ability to analyze data and find trends in audits. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks is essential. Must be able to travel between facilities when necessary.
