We are looking for an Lead Equipment Operator to join the team at Turkey Creek Landfill in Alvarado, Texas. Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus.

Pay: $24.00-$26.00/hr. 55+ hours/week,

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Spreading and compacting trash using a CompactorSpreading daily cover using a DozerExcavating soil using an ExcavatorMaintaining haul roads using a GraderHauling soilAssist with other duties around the Landfill.Servicing Equipment, Blowing out radiators, filters, fueling and greasing.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

The work environment is an outdoor Landfill setting and exposed to elements, heat, winds, sun etc. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Operate several pieces of Heavy equipment throughout the work day.Work in a fast-paced, team environmentWork outdoors in all types of weatherFollow safe operating practicesLearn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer serviceWrite and comprehend reports well enough to complete daily assignmentsHave four year of previous experience operating heavy equipmentPrevious landfill experience is a plus BUT not required!
