Qualifications

EDUCATION: Required: High School graduate or GED. 

EXPERIENCE: Required:  2 years of EVS/housekeeping experience in an institutional services department

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Have some working knowledge of operation and control of electrical equipment and safety.Knowledge of hospital infection control, sanitation protocols and cleaning methods.Must be able to get along with others, accept instructions and suggestions.Must be able to comprehend and absorb new work methods.Ability to understand and communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.Must be fluent in spoken and written English with proficient writing skills. Bi-lingual ability preferred with written and verbal fluency in both English and Spanish.Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.Must meet attendance standards according to company policy.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for leading and supporting the Housekeepers of the following areas: Procedure areas, patient care areas, rest rooms, offices and all other areas requiring Environmental Services support. The routine work of this employee, depending upon area of assignment, consists of performing all the duties and responsibilities of the Housekeeper and Floor Care Technician positions. May perform terminal cleaning of rooms as required. Moving of furniture and other heavy equipment is accomplished as directed. Provides training and guidance to the Housekeeping Staff. Trains any new hires of the Cleaning procedures required at the facility. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Performs project work and other environmental services duties as directed by department director.
