Home to the Headwaters of the Mississippi River, the park is one of the top tourism attractions in the Upper Midwest. Itasca State Park operates 7 days a week with visitors on-site 24 hours a day during peak operations. Itasca State Park is currently seeking to fill a part-time, unlimited Lead Housekeeper position to conduct housekeeping and custodial services for overnight accommodations at Itasca State Park and La Salle Lake. This position will assist the Housekeeping Supervisor with daily operations and assign, inspect, review, and provide leadwork direction as needed to the housekeeping team. Work hours vary, and workdays include evenings, holidays, and weekends. Responsibilities include: + Lead department staff and create daily assignments as needed to ensure daily tasks are completed to meet or exceed the expectation of our guests. + Clean and disinfect park rental units and park facilities so that safe, clean, and sanitary units are provided that meet or exceed the expectations of the guests. + Communicate status updates and changes to Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Park Associates to ensure timely guest check-ins and stress-free conditions for public facing staff. + Represent housekeeping staff at meetings and other interactions and support effective communication between park leadership and housekeeping staff. + Complete additional work duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor so ensure a safe, clean, and organized workspace. + To wash, dry, fold, and organize linens as service level demands and as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor. **Minimum Qualifications** Lead worker skills sufficient to plan, direct, train, monitor, review work of subordinates, motivate people, and obtain program commitment, Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use sufficient to handle, apply, and dispose of safely. Knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in cleaning/maintenance sufficient to determine proper methods and use effectively and safely. Tools and equipment will include a variety of tools/equipment such as small hand tools, pressure washer, steamer, etc. Knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safety to make minor repairs or direct repairs. Knowledge of safety and accident prevention measures sufficient to identify safety hazards, make necessary repairs, and/or alert appropriate personnel. Proficient in the use of computers and programs including word processing, spreadsheets, Point of Sale System (POS), internet, and email. Ability to read and understand written instructions on product labels, in safety manuals, operation manuals, etc. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Customer Service/Communication Skills sufficient to provide information and assistance to the public and staff in a courteous manner. Organizational and interpersonal skills sufficient to work as a productive leader of a team. Conflict resolution/human relation skills sufficient to negotiate, resolve issues, read situations, and settle disputes equitably by finding common ground and cooperation. **Preferred Qualifications** One year experience providing lead work direction to cleaning crew. Knowledge of park rules, policies, facilities and other local points of interest. First Aid and CPR training. **Additional Requirements** This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver’s License with a clear driving record.
