Job Title: SQL Developer cum Administrator
Experience Range: 6 to 9 years
Location: Bangalore, Gurugram

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Developer cum Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, security, and integrity of SQL databases, providing troubleshooting expertise, and working closely with SCRUM teams to optimize SQL scripts.

Must-Have Skills: Strong experience in SQL script optimization and query tuning. Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Sentry for monitoring and optimizing queries. Experience in reviewing SQL stored procedures, performing query optimization and tuning. Proficiency in index optimization: reviewing index reports, identifying missing indexes, and optimizing existing ones. Experience with database security best practices, ensuring proper role management, and identifying security risks. Familiarity with SQL Disk Space Management and Always On Availability Groups (AOAG). Knowledge of SQL maintenance jobs and troubleshooting failures. PowerShell, Shell scripting, and Python experience for automation and deployment. Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems. Strong experience with Agile methodologies and a DevOps mindset. Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security compliance in database environments. Troubleshooting and debugging skills for infrastructure and tool issues. Knowledge in performing system planning, installation, and upgrades of tools and infrastructure Key Responsibilities: SQL Optimization: Review daily SQL scripts and collaborate with SCRUM teams to optimize them. Performance Monitoring: Utilize SQL Sentry to monitor slow-running queries, deadlocks, and DB resource issues, and provide guidance to resolve them. Stored Procedures: Review and optimize slow-performing SQL stored procedures and coordinate with Architects for deployment. Index Optimization: Analyze SQL index reports to find missing indexes and optimize existing indexes. Access Control: Review database access requests and provide guidance on the appropriate role ids. Security: Identify and mitigate database access risks, ensuring appropriate security controls are in place. SQL Maintenance: Monitor and ensure the proper execution of critical SQL maintenance jobs. Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams, including DBA, to troubleshoot and address SQL disk space and AOAG issues. DevOps and Automation: Automate routine SQL deployment tasks, ensuring continuous improvement and integration with DevOps practices.
