Lead I - Software Engineering

Role Proficiency:

Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options optimizing application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions account for others' developmental activities

Outcomes:

Service Now Developer Key Responsibilities: • Scoped Application Development: o Design, develop, and maintain custom Scoped Applications within the ServiceNow platform. o Implement complex workflows, business rules, UI actions, UI pages, and ServiceNow-specific scripting using JavaScript. o Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the scoped applications. o Ensure proper versioning, updates, and migration of scoped applications through ServiceNow’s development lifecycle. • ServiceNow Integration Development: o Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Cloud Services). o Leverage ServiceNow IntegrationHub, REST, SOAP, and other technologies to build, configure, and manage integrations. o Use MID Server for secure data transfer between ServiceNow and on-premise applications. o Implement and maintain integrations for Incident, Change, Problem, and other ITIL processes. • Customization and Configuration: o Customize and configure ServiceNow modules such as Incident Management, Change Management, Service Catalog, CMDB, and others as required by the business. o Develop custom UI/UX enhancements using ServiceNow’s Service Portal and other interface tools. o Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and align with ServiceNow best practices. • Collaboration and Support: o Work closely with stakeholders, project managers, and IT teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. o Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities. o Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for applications and integrations. • Documentation and Best Practices: o Create and maintain clear documentation for all developed solutions, integrations, and customizations. o Promote adherence to ServiceNow development best practices and ensure compliance with security and data governance standards. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer (3+ years preferred) with strong expertise in Scoped Applications and ServiceNow integrations. • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, including ServiceNow Studio, Scoped Applications, REST/SOAP Web Services, and IntegrationHub. • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, etc.), and web technologies (HTML, CSS, AngularJS). • Hands-on experience in integrating ServiceNow with third-party systems, such as using MID Servers, REST API, SOAP Web Services, and Data Sources. • Strong experience with ServiceNow modules such as Incident Management, Change Management, Service Catalog, CMDB, and Service Portfolio Management. • Familiarity with ServiceNow Service Portal and UI/UX development. • Experience with version control, deployment, and configuration management using • ServiceNow update sets and git repositories. • Experience in Agile development methodologies and working in a collaborative team environment. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
