Senior Test Automation Engineer Seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to be an integral member of the software development team, testing premier advancements to our products. This position is expected to analyze requirements for AvidXchange’s suite of products, design and develop automation scripts, validate functionality, and mentor other Test Automation Engineers. What You’ll Do: Collaborate with the development team, including but not limited to Product Owners, Test Automation Engineers, Software Engineers, Database Engineers, and Scrum Masters, to analyze the given business requirements and software designs, identify all possible scenarios, and develop a comprehensive test plan to ensure product quality. Create test data, conduct manual test execution, and prepare test automation scripts. This includes adding and updating existing regression tests using a test framework like SpecFlow, identifying defects, logging them in a Defect Management system, and tracking them until resolution. Provide realistic estimations for the testing effort required to test functionality. Develop and execute performance testing strategies using tools like LoadRunner and VuGen to ensure the scalability and reliability of applications under various load conditions. Leverage observability platforms like Dynatrace to monitor application performance, identify potential issues during testing, and ensure system stability. Actively participate in all Agile Ceremonies that contribute to the overall quality of the product. This includes conducting demos, presentations, and participating in sprint planning and retrospectives. Review deploy requests and facilitate the deployment of Application/Database changes in the testing environments, ensuring that all changes are thoroughly tested and meet the quality standards. Perform peer-to-peer Code Reviews on the test automation check-ins by the team, ensuring adherence to best practices and code quality standards. Develop common test classes and methods for reusability, update regression test suites to reduce execution time, and identify opportunities to improve the automation framework. This includes integrating performance testing scripts with functional testing frameworks. Mentor and grow junior test automation engineers in areas of test design, test automation, and performance testing. Be responsible for quality assurance activities related to Release certification, including maintaining audit compliance. Lead by example and ensure test team members are available to support Production Cases during emergency and critical incidents, providing expertise in both functional and performance testing. Publish Release Notes and Release Regression Plans after discussions within the immediate team and across dependent testing teams, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned. Responsible for the overall quality of the product and the processes involved in planning and grooming the in-depth functionalities of the product, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. Who You Are: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience automating tests (3+ with a master’s degree), including experience in performance testing with LoadRunner and VuGen. Experience Automating Web Applications using Selenium WebDriver, REST API testing, and SOAP using Postman, XML/SOAP, SoapUI, etc. Proficiency in OOP concepts using C# or Java, .NET, MVC – Visual Studio, GIT, Octopus. Experience with SpecFlow for behavior-driven development (BDD) testing, particularly in a .NET environment, to ensure that automation scripts align with business requirements. Experience with SQL for test setup and validation, ensuring data integrity and consistency during testing. Deep understanding of the Testing lifecycle, including Test Design methodologies, Test Execution, and Defect Tracking. Familiarity with defect management tools like Rally, Jira, ALM, etc. Strategic, analytical, and innovative thinker with the ability to address all aspects of custom software testing, including functionality, browser compatibility, platform scalability, performance, and security. Experience with observability tools like Dynatrace to monitor application performance and ensure the reliability of the software under test.
