The Lead IEC61850 Application Engineer, will be working to define requirements, enhance product features for an IEC 61850 compliant System Configuration Tool, working together with engineers based global locations. The role is accountable for business-critical software development to meet product requirements and timelines for future commercial HVDC projects
Roles and Responsibilities
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.Drive sustenance and feature enhancement of 61850 configuration toolStay updated with latest development in this protocol and its applicationsDefine requirements and coordinate development of features with the Controls development communityIntegrate software packages with existing systems and sub-systems.Prepare unit test and regression test specification, release packages and templates.Support software release testingPrepare formal and informal engineering documentation (e.g., Design documents, Requirement specifications, Release reports, etc.)Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in, Technology or Engineering.6 to 8 years of hands-on experience of working with 61850 protocolIEC 61850 standards awareness, working experience with IEC 61850 multi-vendor devicesExperience with IEC 61850 9-2 Process Bus ImplementationIn-depth knowhow in Java Technology Stack – Eclipse Common Platform, Eclipse Modelling Framework (EMF), Graphic Modelling Framework (GMF)Experience with Substation Automation communication protocols.Knowledge on UCA (Utility Communications architecture) test procedures and test tools like Wireshark/MMS client toolsExperience with time synchronization protocols like PTP, IRIG-B and,Understanding on redundancy protocols like PRP, HSRStrong can-do attitude and energy levelDesired Characteristics
