Lead II - Software Engineering - Java

Role Proficiency:

Act creatively to develop applications by selecting appropriate technical options optimizing application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions. Account for others' developmental activities; assisting Project Manager in day to day project execution.

Outcomes:

     Interpret the application feature and component designs to develop the same in accordance with specifications.      Code debug test document and communicate product component and feature development stages.      Validate results with user representatives integrating and commissions the overall solution.      Select and create appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components while creating own solutions for new contexts      Optimises efficiency cost and quality.      Influence and improve customer satisfaction      Influence and improve employee engagement within the project teams Set FAST goals for self/team; provide feedback to FAST goals of team members

Additional Comments:

Key Responsibilities: - Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality delivery of software projects. - Design, develop, and maintain complex Java applications using Java 1.8 and its advanced features (Lambda expressions, Streams API, etc.). - Develop and implement microservices using Spring Boot and ensure seamless integration with other systems. - Work with Hibernate for object-relational mapping and ensure efficient data management. - Collaborate with database teams and work on platforms like Azure DB2, GCP BigQuery, and Snowflake. - Integrate B2B EDI layouts and manage data flows via XML, Kafka topics, and MQ. - Troubleshoot and optimize application performance in line with business requirements. Technical Skill Set: Core Java Expertise: - Proficiency in Java (v1.8) with hands-on experience in Lambda expressions and Streams. - Strong experience with the Spring Framework (including Spring MVC, Spring Boot). - Deep understanding of Hibernate for ORM and data persistence. Microservices: - Extensive experience in designing and developing Microservices architecture. Database Technologies: - Experience with Azure DB2, GCP BigQuery, and Snowflake. - Ability to work on relational databases and optimize query performance. Other Skills (Basic Knowledge): - Experience working with B2B EDI Layout for business-to-business transactions. - Basic knowledge of XML for data transmission and transformations. - Familiarity with Kafka topics for real-time data streaming and MQ for messaging. Functional knowledge of Supply Chain is a must. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 15+ years of experience in Java Development. - At least 3+ years of Team Leadership experience. - Proven track record of managing and delivering complex software projects. Desired Soft Skills: - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex software issues. - Excellent leadership and mentoring capabilities. - Good communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
