Job Summary

As the Lead Insider Threat Analyst, you will be responsible for program development, cross-functional collaboration, and the operationalization of insider threat detection and response capabilities. You will lead investigative efforts and conduct reviews of insider case events; use data mining tools to collect and analyze large amounts of information to triage potential insider indicators and respond to confirmed incidents. 

 

This person selected for this role will serve as a key member of the Insider Threat Working Group (ITWG) and will report directly to the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO).
 

Responsibilities Program Development. Contribute to the development of policies, processes, and workflows for detecting, investigating, and mitigating insider threats. Recommend, metrics and reporting enhancements to measure the effectiveness of the program.Insider Threat Investigations. Lead insider threat investigations according to requirements in the established policies and procedures. Ensure timely and efficient communication of reportable incidents to all relevant stakeholders. Document findings in written reports. Case Support. Lead insider threat activities and requirements pursuant to investigations, administrative or security inquiries, security risk assessments, or other adjudicative assessments.Analysis and Assessment. Conduct all-source analysis, cyber analysis, and investigative analysis. Coordinate the application of insider risk models and assign risk levels for insiders. Access and integrate information from network monitoring tools and other data analytics tools and sources to decipher underlying trends or uncover anomalies and discern obscure patterns and attributes. Data Triage. Conduct data triage of anomalous events and other network and endpoint monitoring tools. Briefings and Reports. Prepare and present analysis, in the form of briefings and reports. Briefings and reports should address all investigative and analytical findings and be suitable for publication to stakeholders. 
 Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; eight years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in Information technology, IT Security or Security Governance/Compliance. Demonstrated experience in coordinating with internal and external stakeholders such as military, law enforcement, counterintelligence or private sector industry equivalentMotivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings. Comfortable with briefing senior leaders.Position will be subject to a U.S. Government Security Investigation. Incumbent must possess a security clearance (Secret/Top Secret) or be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
