MUST HAVE

- 10-15 years experience within instrumentation and controls engineering, from gas projects

---> producing engineering work packages for construction, all drawings for wiring instrumentation, installation, instrument spec sheets, junction box wiring drawings, cables schedules, PLC wiring drawings, instrumentation location drawings, instrument index, instrumentation sizing.

- P Eng (will need in BC< prefer BC and AB)

- Software: Bluebeam, AutoCAD 3D/Navisworks (either or), Elecdes/AVEVA (instrumentation database)

- Stamp instrumentation and controls designs (OK if stronger on one than other but must be comfortable with both)

- Strong understanding of gas analyses

- Travel: occasional travel to sites with PE teams for scoping - BC and Houston. Couple times a year, small component of role. 1 week max in total.

SOFT SKILLS

- Very client facing, will need strong written/verbal communication

- Calm and collected under pressure

- People management skills, can work with others and delegate tasks (may lead a team of 2-3)

- Ability to work independently and in a group

- Vendor management, managing procurement packages and RFQs

TOP REPEATABLE TECHNICAL DUTIES

- Producing engineering work packages for construction, all drawings for wiring instrumentation, installation, instrument spec sheets, junction box wiring drawings, cables schedules, PLC wiring drawings, instrumentation location drawings, instrument index, instrumentation sizing.

- Direct junior EITs, delegating tasks, and advise on instrumentation as needed

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and implement project specifications

Assist in project scheduling and development of engineering and capital cost estimates

Prepare technical specifications, instrument data sheets, requisition quotes and bid evaluations

Perform instrument design calculations

Configure reports and update and maintain instrument databases

Check and review vendor drawings against industry codes and standards to ensure technical accuracy

Design control panels, IO drawings and communication networks

Design junction box wiring, location diagrams, and cable schedules

Prepare control narratives and philosophy documents, as well as written scopes of work for instrument and controls contractors

Prepare shutdown keys/cause and effect matrices

Program, commission and startup various types of control systems per project requirements

NICE TO HAVE

- US Professional Engineer

- Process safety and functional safety (IEC 61511) is an asset.

- PLC, DCS, HMI, RTU, SCADA programming proficiency is an asset (Allen-Bradley, DeltaV, GE, Modicon, ABB 800XA, Honeywell Experion/PKS, etc.)

- LNG storage

- Hydrogen experience

- Electrical engineering knowledge
