Lead Instrumentation Technician
What they need: This is a new role, created as a result of recent reorganization efforts - and the purpose of the position is to being technical leadership to a team of about a dozen people who all support large capital efforts across three facilities within this company. This company is looking for a subject-matter-expert (SME) type person who likes to teach, mentor and lead others. For the hiring manager, it doesn't matter whether you have an expertise in instrumentation or in electrical engineering/power distribution, as long as you have a solid background in I&E design, you have worked on larger capital projects ($2.5MM+), and you are bringing a knowledge of "what good looks like".   What's In It For You? This a very stable company that is in a very stable business segment - they operate facilities around the world and overall employ about 8,000 people. They have significant capital investment plans for the next several years and there is a real opportunity here to be a part of forming project strategy and protocol in the area of I&E. The company operates three facilities in the US and advancement opportunity exists both at this site as well to within the company overall.   Minimum Requirements: B.S. degree preferred, but not required 8+ years of industry experience - ideally out of chemical processing, but also would consider backgrounds in EPC, Licensing companies, etc Must have SME-level experience in either Instrumentation or electrical/power distribution Must possess excellent computer skills; they have recently switched to a database-driven design system Travel will be up to 25% for this role and is typically 1-2 nights at a time, no long trips outside of very occasional International trips
