Technicians must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of part/components, and complex repairs as it pertains to tractor-trailer maintenance including but not limited to the air brake systems, fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems and FHWA Inspections.
Accurately perform the most difficult repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and exceed requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.
Always maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures.
Troubleshoot and diagnose tractor-trailer issues, develop innovative solutions, and work independently.
Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs.
Schedule inbound equipment and maintain estimated running time so that repairs are assigned in order of priority; ensure equipment status is updated continually to maximize utilization.
Maintain the company’s safety culture by promoting a safe work environment in compliance with federal and state regulations, conduct safety meetings, mock OSHA inspections, model safe work habits, etc.
Actively manage parts sales by effectively forecasting inventory turnover and replenishment; monitor inventory levels and order parts as required, ensuring adequate supply based on sales information and re-ordering points.
Conduct Cycle Counts and periodic inventories as required.
Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records, and filing.
Regularly gather management reports of parts usage, sales, and other timely data.
Retain/ship parts and maintain J.B. Hunt information systems of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity ordered and damage free, stock inbound parts to proper storage location and update information systems.
Ship and receive shop tools requiring repair or replacement.
Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment free of trash and hazards.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
18 years of age.
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively.
Ability to read documents and/or information in English.
5 or more years of experience in tractor-trailer maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
DOT Certified in FHWA Inspections & Air Brakes.
A/C Certification
Advanced welding skills (MIG and stick).
Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations. Employees without their own tools may obtain them through toolbox purchase program.

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
