About the team and the role:

The Lead Manager - Financial Services Communications role with eBay is dedicated to driving compelling internal and external communications, engagement, and cultural change at one of the world’s iconic brands! Partnering directly with senior executives and Global Payments, Payments Tech and Risk partners, the person in this role will work to develop and deliver communications for key partnerships, new product launches, programs and initiatives internally and externally! The role requires a communicator who is committed to high quality and innovation. They love the challenge of capturing a leader’s voice, creative storytelling, and working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment. They have experience working in communications within the Fintech/Financial Services sector and have an understanding of building positive relationships, experience launching new Financial Services products and managing and key external events and media opportunities to best position eBay’s leaders within the financial services sector.

What you will accomplish:

We are looking for someone who enjoys working on a broad range of communications, writing and project management and media relations with excellent project management, organizational and people skills. This is a hands-on role where you will be both conceiving the strategy and delivering most of that strategy’s tactical elements. Examples of day-to-day work include developing communications plans for new product launches, supporting All Hands, Board and external PPT presentations. Writing, producing, and editing written messages and video communication for a range of channels, producing global all-hands events – both in person and virtually, writing briefings, talking points and crafting slides and content for external speaking and media opportunities, and working with product leaders across the company. You’ll need to partner effectively with executives and product leads along with agency partners and the media to drive active understanding and engagement with our brand, our business goals and priorities, and eBay’s purpose to empower people to create economic opportunity for all.

What you will bring:

8+ years of leadership communications experience with senior executives – preferably in Financial Services or FinTech global organization within the retail or technology sectors.Bachelor’s required – preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.Excellent verbal, written and presentation and design skills;Ability to cut through with a succinct, modern style.Highly proficient user of PowerPoint and KeynoteStrong digital and social storytelling and engagement experience.Complex organizational and cultural change management experience.Strong Internet and general business acumenPracticed capacity to manage complex projects with multiple partners navigating conflict and developing consensus.Bring a business outcomes mindset to communications workTechnology savvy. keen understanding of all types of channels.Passion for improving and sustaining employee engagementProven track record to work with partners at all levelsExperience managing and participating in project teams in a matrixed environment without direct reports.Quick learner with resilience, speed and patience under pressureCan work independently or collaboratively with minimal directionDiligent, highly organized, fiercely committed to quality, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Empathy, good emotional intelligence as well as cultural sensitivity

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$144,000 - $216,150

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
