Lead Manufacturing Associate
Job Summary Lead a group of Associates involved in the production of products. In addition to performing assembly line functions, also calibrates equipment and maintains tools. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Responsible for distribution of work. Determines schedules and communicates procedures and routing of work. Interpret machine logs, collecting data, set up new machines for test, trouble-shooting machine failures, interpret error codes. Informs Supervisor of staff, safety, defective product or mechanical issues. Ensures all safety standards are met by work group. Test and repair commercial and industrial meter equipment, build meter assemble and test and repair instruments. Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines. Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department. Involves such processes as insertion of materials, clamping, fitting parts and use of some hand tools. May cut pipe to specific dimensions as required by fabrication job. May align layout marks with die and blade, position materials being joined to ensure accurate application of adhesive. May perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools, and electronic and pneumatic tooling Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages. Pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes. Place finished goods on the designated pallet. Nature and Scope May modify processes to resolve situations. Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies. Work typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor or direct "customers" of the process. Is sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring/firing authority. Work Environment Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward. Minimum Qualifications Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable Education and Experience Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. Generally 5-7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility. Preferred Qualifications Extensive knowledge of all types of machinery. Experience in a precast concrete shop.
