The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead Marine Finance & Strategy Analyst reporting to the AVP of GMO Finance.
This position works on-site in Miami, Florida
Position Summary:
This position will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the GMO Finance department. The Lead is responsible for leading complex analyses, developing insights, and delivering solutions that will drive performance improvement across the enterprise. They will also consolidate reporting, and analysis aimed at driving improved financial results in partnership with the marine operations team and the various finance departments. They will also oversee the G&A budget for all the GMO Shared Service team. This person will play a crucial role in the forecasting and analysis of our G&A costs. They must be in constant communication with the teams in Miami, UK, and all other international locations to incorporate the ever-changing business environment into our financial models and projections. Their primary objective is to support the AVP of Marine Finance with financial insight into the overall RCG Global Marine Operations costs (opex, capex, fuel, and G&A) as well as develop the materials for the AOP, Strat Plans and any other ad hoc deliverables. They will need strong work ethic, have a proficient level of diligence, outstanding analytical skills and have a solution-oriented approach to problems. Effective communication to management and the respective operational groups is critical to the success of this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating, developing, and packaging of financial reports and presentations for monthly performance reviews, management reporting and strategic planning. Maintains and updates management reporting to clearly communicate actual results, trends, opportunities, and alternative scenarios. Prepares AOP, Plan and Strat Plan materials as well as any other ad hoc projects and reporting requests. Supports the strategic planning efforts for the Marine Finance Department. Develops and maintains detailed budgets, forecasts, and financial models for G&A. Oversees preparation of month-end journal entries, including re-classes, accruals, and prepaid entries, ensuring that all expense recording is in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, accounting and other company policies for the G&A accounts. Develops and maintains all GMO G&A financial reports and bridges for GMO leadership, corporate planning, and brand finance, to track G&A performance and KPIs, as well as to ensure visibility, transparency, and adherence to budget. Serves as point person for Human Resource planning and analysis for all GMO resource costs. Prepares financial reports and presentations to communicate performance to stakeholders. Oversee the General & Administrative (G&A) scope for the entire GMO organization, which encompasses approximately $42 million in expenses. Consolidate the marine performances of all five brands (RCI, CEL, SSC, TUI, HL) The Lead analyst’s objective is to end the year within +1/-1% of target. Supports brand initiatives and ad-projects as assigned.Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
B.A in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Master’s degree in business, finance or in a technical field preferred. Four - six years related financial or business analysis. Cruise or Hospitality experience preferred. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are required. Dashboard analytic experience required. Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask in a demanding environment. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead, facilitate and organize. Must be an initiative-taker and highly motivated, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Desire to learn and deliver business decision aids to operational leaders. Must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in analysis. Prior experience with Essbase is a plus. Must work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to work under tight timelines, prioritizing responsibilities as needed.
