**39052BR** **Extended Job Title:** Lead Mechanic **Position Description:** Performs skilled mechanical work in the maintenance of buildings, vehicles, equipment and/or related systems. Work is performed under general supervision within established guidelines. May supervise maintenance workers. **Requisition ID:** 39052BR **Optional Attachments:** Professional/Personal Reference **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + General Mechanical Abilities: General Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, compressors, pumps, and transmissions, final drives, brakes, electronics and the ability to help overhaul all of the above. + Preventive Maintenance: Oil changes, filter changes, tune-ups, servicing transmissions, rear ends and cooling systems. + General Daily Inspection of Equipment: Daily visual inspection of all equipment, advising personnel as to the proper preventive maintenance of equipment & vehicles. + Parts Supplies: General Knowledge of parts and inventories. Ability to advise foreman of parts needed or to be kept on hand. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** 16.43 **Pay Basis:** Hourly **Schedule Details:** 7:00am-4:55pm **Work Location:** Lubbock **Preferred Qualifications:** + Considerable knowledge of the standard methods and practices and skill in the use of the tools and equipment used in the mechanic trade.
