Job Duties:
Supervise and guide shop staff, ensuring team performance and professional growth.
Interface with project managers, clients, electrical utilities, and regulatory agencies to ensure designs comply with all requirements.
Ensure all project documents are stored correctly within the document management system (PDM) and perform occasional site visits to gather information for new equipment design and retrofits.
Prepare calculations for bus and enclosure design (bracing and conductor sizing) to ensure compliance with CSA C22.2-31 switchgear requirements.
Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian institution (Registered PEng) or equivalent education/training.
Extensive knowledge of construction techniques and installation specifics related to electrical equipment, adhering to codes and standards (CSA, IEEE).
At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, with a strong background in designing LV/MV switchgear or similar electrical equipment.
Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1) and design of Industrial Control Panels (CSA C22.2 No. 14) is advantageous.
