Lead Medical Assistant - Mohs Surgery - Shiley Pavilion

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm. Start times may vary between 7-8am based on clinic needs. Located at the Shiley Medical Pavilion in Torrey Pines. Travel to other clinics required based on clinic needs.

Your job duties:

All Medical Assistant dutiesAddressing patient concernsAssisting with implementing Scripps initiatives and changes within departmentServe as the initial point of contact for resolving conflicts and addressing issuesDemonstrate initiative and effectively prioritize the needs of the departmentResponsible for providing technical support to Medical Assistant staff in a clinic site or physician module:trainingassurance of consistency and standardization of proceduresmanagement of day-to-day staff coverage arrangements to ensure excellent patient carestaff performance managementserve as a mentor to staffPrimarily responsible for Mohs department, but also responsible for covering multiple positions and departments as neededMentoring new and existing staff on clinical processes and proceduresResponsible for review of new and existing staff documentation and completion of monthly auditsPractice within the scope of a Medical Assistant and contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care

Certified Medical Assistant or Military Corpsman, plus two years applicable clinical experience.Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.Conflict resolution and problem solving and planning

Required Certification/Registration:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or Military Corpsman program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health ProfessionsAmerican Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS

Preferred:

1 year of experience in a lead or comparable leadership role2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably with surgical or Mohs/dermatology experience in an outpatient setting
