POSITION SUMMARY:
Marathon Petroleum Logistics is seeking a Lead Methane Reduction Engineer to provide technical support for the G&P Methane Reduction Program. The individual has broad responsibility for supporting the planning and management of the program, supporting the MPC project management process (MPMP), and providing engineering and technical guidance. This role supports G&P’s requirements to meet regulatory compliance deadlines and methane reduction goals by collaborating with the Environmental, Engineering, Operations, and Business Development teams among other stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will support G&P’s strategy to meet regulatory compliance and requirements for NSPS OOOOb/c as well as other regulatory frameworks and corporate sustainability goals.Partner with Environmental, Operations, and project teams to understand ongoing projects and work practices that would subject the site to rule applicability.Work closely with Operations, Environmental, Engineering, Business Development, Project Controls, project managers, contract engineering firms and vendors to develop accurate scope, cost, and schedules.Collaborate with affected stakeholders to vet technology options, validate performance, provide estimates, schedules, and risks to meet strategy and deadlines.Develop and maintain a schedule for the program and track status of individual projects covering all assets affected by regulations.Must have broad knowledge of midstream natural gas and light crude processing and operations, including compressor stations, dehydration, amine treating, and centralized production facilities.Must have general understanding of instrument air compression, vapor recovery units, flares, enclosed combustors, process flow/temperature/level measurement instrumentation, and process controls.Must be able to read, understand, markup and develop PFD and P&IDs as necessary.Must have experience working with MS Project or other project management software.Working knowledge of process simulation modeling software such as Symmetry, HYSYS, or Promax is preferred.Must be able to develop project scopes and prepare budgetary estimates. Project management experience highly desired.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals/employees.Must have strong technical writing abilities with capabilities for developing design standards and specifications.Must be able to handle assignments and projects with minimal supervision and complete them within acceptable time standards.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: Bachelor of Science Degree in relevant engineering field from an accredited College or UniversityREQUIRED: Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.REQUIRED: Current valid driver's licensePREFERRED: 3+ years of project management background and 7+years of midstream experience with natural gas facilitiesSKILLS:
