Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Metrologist/Instrumentation Specialist to provide support in the form of a Principal Metrologist. The primary focus of this role will be on the overseeing of maintenance scheduling, calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair of onsite laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
ResponsibilitiesOversee equipment maintenance scheduling, tracking, completion of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.Collaborate with Quality Assurance to develop and write procedures related to equipment and instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.Implement and keep track of consumable inventory and send purchasing requests as needed.Follow all safety and procedural SOPs and trainings.Cross-train and monitor other staff as needed to assist as Technicians.Keep metrics to report including right first time, errors, number of equipment serviced, and timelines.Perform additional Metrology tasks related to Metrology Functional Support.Essential SkillsBachelor's or Master's Degree in Life Science (No degree could be considered with perfect resume, but unlikely).5+ years of analytical chemistry experience (HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV, TLC).3+ years in a leadership role managing analytical instrumentation projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsCalibrationLaboratoryChemistryMetrologyLab InstrumentationTroubleshootingGMPLab equipmentQuality controlValidationSterile ManufacturingChange ControlsSOP ReviewProtocol ReviewTechnical WritingSOP WritingSOP DevelopmentPharmaceuticalInstrument ValidationInstrument QualificationEquipment QualificationWork Environment
The role involves working with laboratory equipment such as HPLCs, GCs, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, balances, fume hoods, and pressure gauges. The work environment requires adherence to safety and procedural SOPs and trainings. The Lead Metrologist will also be responsible for training and overseeing Technicians to perform maintenance and calibrations on various instruments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
