Location/Division Specific Information: Our Hillsboro site produces outstanding electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce-high quality components used in the world’s finest microscopes operated by scientists like Nobel prize winners and researchers who imaged the COVID-19 virus. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing of equipment to established parameters and specifications. This position collaborates with the entire manufacturing team and reports directly to the Director of Operations.

What will you do?

The Lead Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician is the first line of response for production technicians when they are facing technical or performance issues with our Small Dual Beam Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) test tools.Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all test tools.Drive test tool uptime using Key Performance Indicators and preemptively plan/schedule tool repairs.Install and qualify new capital test equipment on an as needed basis.

How will you get here?

EducationHigh school diploma required2-year associate degree in a technical field like Electronic Engineering Technology or Microelectronics required2+ years of experience operating a SDB Scanning Electron Microscopes OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.Prior experience as a Field Service Engineer repairing capital equipmentMilitary Technical Training in lieu of a technical degree may also be considered.ExperienceAt least 2 years of validated experience in a job-related industryExperience working in the fields of Electronics and Vacuum strongly preferredExperience with fixing and equipment repairExperience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plusExperience with Windows-based and MS Office programs a plus (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAbility to lift up to 35lbsKnowledge of data acquisition and taking SEM images and measurementsKnowledge of Electronics Manufacturing, High Voltage, and Ultra High VacuumAbility to read work instructions and schematic drawingsAbility to analyze and address problems independently and collaborativelyAbility to support projects, perform training and work efficiently as part of cohesive teamsSelf-motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal skillsProven track record working in a fast paced manufacturing environmentComfortable operating in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPE as neededProfessional verbal and written communication skills, to enable collaboration with colleagues of differing cultural, language and background.
