Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead of Procurement to oversee all contractor procurement activities for our high-profile CO? Sequestration Project. This role is pivotal in ensuring a cost-effective, timely, and compliant procurement program that meets both project needs and EPC contractual requirements. Reporting directly to the Business Division Manager, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to drive procurement excellence.
Key Responsibilities - (Duties include but not limited to):
Strategic Alignment & Planning: Collaborate with the Project Management Team (PMT) to define and align project procurement objectives and requirements. Develop comprehensive Procurement Plans that support project goals, including purchasing strategies for spare parts and bulk materials, as well as materials reconciliation and closeout plans. Tendering & Contract Administration: Oversee the procurement of Long Lead Items (LLI) by preparing ITT packages and coordinating the tender process in collaboration with QG Supply, PMT, legal, and evaluation teams. Administer procurement agreements until they are assigned to the EPC Contractor, ensuring adherence to project timelines and standards. Compliance & Process Optimization: Establish and monitor adherence to project-specific procurement processes and procedures. Review and approve the Contractor’s procurement methods to ensure alignment with company policies and contractual obligations, including business ethics and anti-brokering guidelines. Contractor & Supplier Management: Manage and review the Contractor’s procurement activities (Gates 3 – 5) to ensure compliance with approved processes and contractual terms. Oversee the quality of procurement documentation and support the Contractor in managing procurement interfaces effectively. Spare Parts Coordination: Lead spare parts planning by interfacing with the overall Spare Parts Coordinator, ensuring alignment on schedules and critical interface points. Implement and oversee the spare parts acquisition process, including managing EPCM activities related to spare parts. Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear and regular communication with the PMT, reporting on procurement schedules, costs, and any issues with proactive mitigation strategies. Provide support for subcontracting administration as required. Minimum Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 10 years in contract management, procurement, and related roles on major oil and gas projects. Proven track record in managing procurement for complex projects, including experience with EPC contracting. Education & Certifications: Diploma in Procurement or equivalent certifications. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of procurement best practices and the procurement market, with extensive knowledge of key vendors in the oil and gas industry. Skills & Competencies Technical & Business Acumen: Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under pressure. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive, team-oriented approach. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in managing complex procurement processes. Behavioral Competencies: High integrity and ethical standards. Strong planning, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and external stakeholders.
