The production facility is owned by Air Products and Gulf Coast Ammonia, with Air Products being the operator. The facility operates and requires support on a 24/7 basis. Required Skills / Abilities:Strong operations proficiency is desired.
Must have strong communication and leadership skills.
Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude .
Good computer skills to facilitate and operate SAP and Microsoft Office applications. Preferably proficient in MS Office suite.

You will initially be responsible for supporting the development of facility operating, safety, emergency, communication, and work process procedures. Additionally, you will be involved in commissioning the process systems for all 3 plants until start-up. When in both the start-up and operating phases of this project, the Shift Team Lead role is an on-shift position, supporting the shift operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the equipment and facility. The basic function of this role is to provide first line leadership for operations team through continuous improvement of plant operation, maintenance, mechanical equipment integrity, reliability, cost, safety performance, and on-stream time.
Key Job Responsibilities:Work directly with the SMR, ASU and NH3 loop operations site supervisors including the site manager, product coordinators, pipeline department, and Customer Service Center (CSC) to supervise the operations as well as the site utilities.
Implement operating, communication and decision-making protocols to address real time supply / demand balance changes.
Receive and communicate priorities every day for the ASU, SMR and NH3 plants based on overall system status, request rate, maintenance activities etc.
Act as single point of contact for communications on general, routine operations to site supervision, including issue to the appropriate parties per protocol.
First point of contact for all levels of operator progression by providing training support on worker safety policies, facility processes, operating procedures, troubleshooting and operational team.
Understand the detailed Emergency Response Plan, accept authority in an emergency to take all steps vital to protect personnel, and ensure safe operation of the plant and pipelines up to and including shutting down the plants and/or pipelines.
Lead emergency drills within the facility to maintain and reinforce response skills and knowledge of the site emergency response plan.
Support and consult Air Products pipeline team and 3rd party’s during an ammonia emergency response event on the NH3 GCA-owned pipeline.
Assist in the investigation of injuries, environmental excursions or releases, cost of non-conformance and Near-Miss incidents.
Know, comply, and implement safe work procedures and operational field practices to the operations team.
Capable of writing detailed/complex operating procedures and marking up P&ID’s.
Proven ability to lead the implementation and operational readiness inspection for changes made in the field covered by the electronic management of change process.
Ability to support the facility through a State or Federal Audit as well as an internal audit.
Detailed understanding of all facility Environmental Permits and the ability to handle all immediate environmental reporting requirements.
Act as the HAZMAT Incident Commander.
Act as a Confined Space Entry Supervisor.
Detailed understanding of facility interactions and flows across all units during upsets.
Lead the sites internal programs including the MAS Team, Zero Leak Program, IRR Program, Hearing Conservation Program, HAZMAT and Respirator Program.
Participate in the basic safety process as a key member of the Site Safety committee and sharing responsibility for the site’s overall safety performance.
Assist in the development, implementation, and periodic review of preventative/predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned shutdowns and improve overall plant on-stream capability.
Maintain an error-free execution. Pay very close attention to details and complete work to the highest possible standard. Apply a Continuous Improvement philosophy to daily work.
Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provide technical and hands- on support as required during shutdowns.
Provide troubleshooting expertise for the production units.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experience/GED.
Certificate in process technology or maintenance field (preferred) or 5-7 years minimum in a manufacturing/production, processing, or chemical/ petrochemical environment. Participants in Skills USA are encouraged to apply.
