The Lead Operator is responsible for overseeing all Battery Operators on shift. This role will ensure all Operators are properly trained to perform required tasks and have responsibility over the production work cell.
The Lead Operator will also be responsible for operation of dye cutting and/or assembly equipment on shift. Job activities may be of short duration and requiring frequent change in set-up and motion. They will be responsible for setting up dye cutting machine including loading master rolls onto the machine and staging raw materials in the area. The Lead Operator will also be responsible for coordinating production and workers on multiple pieces of equipment to maintain proper production throughput.
Work on the machines may be manually or automatically operated depending on the job task. The Lead Operator will also be responsible for unloading WIP or finished product, and packaging this product accordingly. The Lead Operator enters production and consumption of materials and verifies entries made by others on the crew. The Lead Operator will coordinate the end of shift paperwork for their asset or work cell. The will have significant control over product quality and work from written or verbal instructions and general operating practices, requiring application of some judgment and selectivity. Adjusts set-up and process operation accordingly.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing and working with other operators to achieve desired production throughput. Directing efforts where applicable and necessary.Training of junior operators on work instructions, SOP’s and other manufacturing practices.Staging and moving material between works cells to efficiently support production needs.Ability to make proper machine settings based on product specifications for set-ups and production runRead & follow manufacturing work orders, work instructions, control plans, SOP’s, safety requirementsInspection of product going into and out of processSupport and maintain the world class manufacturing system (including 5S, Risk Assessments, etc)Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rulesMust be able to work extended hours when requiredAll other duties as assignedMust comply with all Federal, State, Local and Company rules and regulations on Health, Safety and Environmental issues. Responsible for maintaining Alkegen's highest level of safety standards on site including identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and unsafe acts. Will embody Alkegen's core safety principles including but not limited to The Seven Safety Absolutes, use of PPE, and Safe Standards of Work at all times. Will champion safety in the workplace each day.Qualifications/ Experience:
